Billing

A PTA(s) is required for each laboratory submission and are used for billing.

Accessions transfer to billing when all tests are finalized.  Billing and invoicing occurs at the end of every month.

Turn Around Time with Results

Turnaround time is depended on several factors; the time of day the sample is submitted, the number of samples submitted, complexity of each sample and the test(s) requested. Most routine clinical hematology and chemistry testing results are available within 72 hours. Large batch biochemical studies are done as quickly as possible utilizing time where we can run all samples as a group. Rodent surveillance testing is batched and reported out when all components are finalized.

What to Expect With Results

Results are reported with generalized reference ranges if possible.  These are listed by species if available and do not segregate age, sex, strain or breed. High or Low flags will appear on your report if values are outside this range.  It is highly recommended that specific (strain, age, sex) normal controls are run with each of your studies.   If you have a particular strain/breed in which you would like to partner for reference range development please email Jing Hu (jingh@stanford.edu).

Help with interpretation of results, pre-analytical factors, or other areas of concern is available.  Please email our lab director Flavio Herberg de Alonso (fhalonso@stanford.edu) to set up a time to discuss.

Reporting and Excel Reports

You can now access your results at your convenience using the LabOnline Portal. This will also allow you to download your results into an excel format. Please refer to the LabOnline log-in instructions.
